Our wall is just about done and the house will soon be back in order, but one family member is really enjoying having a perch to watch all the birds.
For some reason every time I have the opportunity to sleep in my body wakes me up between 7-7:30am. Never fails. It happens more often than I’d like, but yesterday I used it to my advantage and got a lot done early. First up was going outside before it got too hot and taking Harper to swim.
She was so happy and playing fetch is the fastest way to wear her out on a hot day.
I wish we could have stayed longer, but the heat was getting more intense and breakfast was wearing off fast.
After a fun day outside we came home to finish watching Wimbledon and I started the mounds of laundry that I’d been needing to tackle. In my mind I had planned on making a really nice lunch of zucchini corn cakes and soup, but when I went to grab all the ingredients I realized I was lacking ONE thing. I hate when that happens and went from a little hungry and annoyed to starving and pissed in less than 15 seconds.
Wouldn’t you know the one thing missing was milk! I don’t even drink it, but since it was a new recipe I didn’t want to deviate and use soy or almond and have the whole thing go to waste. So I walked to the market and grabbed a half-gallon of milk only to also say, “TO HELL WITH IT” and grab one of the “ready-made” dinners to have for lunch instead.
I got the “Country Captain” which was a spicy chicken and tomato dish with roasted veggies. It came with rice, but I saw the sesame noodles and got those as our side.
The rest of the day we hung out around the house, I studied a little bit, then we ended the night with a sweet treat I’m adding to my favorites list.
Almond milk ice cream sandwiches. You have to try these little mini’s. I got them in the natural frozen foods section in Kroger, but I’m sure you can find them anywhere. I would have got the full size, but these were already $5 for 2 bites, so I’ll stick with these for now.
Tomorrow I have the written exam for my Esthetics license and am really excited. I’m not so much nervous about this first test as I am the practical where someone is watching me, but I know I’ll be fine. The rest of the night won’t be an all nighter like in college since I need the extra sleep, but I have some good study pals so that’s always helpful!
