Today is day 4 of not having school or work and I’ve not known what to do with myself. That isn’t the case for everyone one in the Hudgens household.
Being in class on the weekends and working through the week I rarely get a chance to visit with my family. I’m use to seeing them every other month or so, but this year has been so busy it’s not been that often.
My parents recently moved to Alabama from NC so the trip to see them is only a couple of hours as opposed to the 5 we normally drive. With such a quick trip it was easy for us to get in the car and go after our run.
My mom always makes the table so pretty for holidays(and non holidays too). Remember the fresh flowers I told you about? Such a pretty table for a family dinner. It’s a great balance for when we sit down and talk like sailors. Nothing says family traditions better;)
Travis and I were so incredibly sore and hungry that once we got to their house were ready to dig in.
I made sure to get a little bit of everything, loaded on the gravy and didn’t speak for probably 10 minutes while I devoured everything on my plate. I almost forgot I had salad too.
Everything was so good and I was full so I waited a little while before dessert.
We had already cleared the table and started the dishes in the dishwasher so paper plates were used. My brother and I offered to cut the pies. This was a disaster as you can see. Can you even tell the far right one is pecan? No, you can’t. haha But it was delicious anyway.
Travis and I were so tired from such a long day we called it a night at 8 o’clock, after taking a pic for mom.
Friday was all about spending the day doing nothing. It was really weird not to have plans for the day, but relaxation was much-needed so I took it. Harper spent the day outside and stalking Kitty. Kitty didn’t remember Harper or Travis and me, but that didn’t stop me from trying to force cuddles on her.
I ate so many leftovers and my favorite holiday treats my mom always has on hand.
I ate these guilt free since holiday meals, snacks, and treats are zero calories;)
It was so good to see my family and I hated that we couldn’t visit longer, but Christmas is less than a month away so it won’t be too long.
Harper was sad to go, but having a car ride with the window rolled down made up for it.
Holidays are always busy and full of stress, but it’s always great to spend time with family.

Looks like an awesome weekend! 4 more weeks til Christmas, the countdown is on for more time off
Looks like fun.
Last night, I took a picture of Murphy on the couch in the exact same position. They look exactly alike. I’m going to email it to you.
I just discovered your blog via Lee. I too have a golden retriever, except he’s not a fan of being on his back for long periods of time. Can’t wait to read more here!
Goldens are so funny. I’m glad you found the blog!
