This past weekend really did a number on me. I’m not used to having full days off and it was A-MA-ZING!!!!!!! I didn’t sleep as late as I thought I might, but getting in an extra hour or half hour is just as appreciated. Also, knowing I don’t have to get up and do anything is awesome and makes the day so much better.
Saturday was way too pretty to just sit in front of the TV so we decided to head up to the mountains and do some hiking!
I packed up some his/hers PB&J’s for our post hike snack and we were on our way.
We had a small breakfast before we left knowing we’d stop before the hike for lunch which ended up being a greasy spoon.
I went with a classic veggie omelet and we split some french toast for extra energy carbs;) I was most surprised how nothing on the menu was over $10. It literally blew my mind. Living in the city you can’t find menu’s that don’t have over $10 on the breakfast list alone. I was amazed. It’s the little things.
Once our bellies were good and full it was time for our hike. The trail was a 3.5 mile trek to a waterfall where Harper had the most fun.
The full seven mile hike was very hilly so we were all worn out and ready to go home by the end of the day. We easily went to bed before 10 and slept until about 9 Sunday morning.
The original plans for Easter Sunday were to go to a 9am Vinyasa and make brunch, but we were still tired from the hike and took it easy in the morning. Instead we both read our books, me The Hunger Games and Travis the 3rd book of the Hunger games, don’t judge.
For a break from reading about Katniss, I made us a nice brunch from leftovers.
This of course, was followed by a nice walk for dessert.
Later that night we had dinner with friends and I ate really well and it was great to finish my weekend off with some of my favorite people.
I only have 2 more weekends of school before weekends like this are back in my life. And it can’t come soon enough!
