Price Check Fail

October 4, 2012

I have a confession.

I buy things and don’t look at the price. It’s not as bad as you may think. It’s not for things that matter, like an investment. It’s things like cute dog treats that I grab in the check out line at a boutique pet food store that turn out to be $6.

Yes this thing was $6 and I didn’t even notice until I got home and looked at the price, major price check FAIL. I just assumed the total was high due to the dog food and wet cat food. She enjoyed it, but that will be her last Halloween themed treat of the year unless it’s less than a buck.

Another pricey item I bought was this SUPER cute scarf, infinity neck thing.

I had a gift card from Anthropologie and grabbed this up(along with a few other things)quick without looking at how much it would set me back. It didn’t break me, but was more than I would normally be willing to pay for an accessory.

Oh the curse of the gift card. I’m not the type of person that tries to nickel and dime making sure I don’t have to spend any more money than what the card is for so I usually don’t look at the price. I don’t mind paying extra(within reason) because I can rationalize that it could have been more and I did pretty good.

This morning I woke up with the worst sinus headache and the last thing I wanted to do was workout, but I knew I would feel better after. After about 30 minutes on the elliptical and some ab work I was exhausted. I felt so weak and just decided to get home, shower and relax on the couch until I went to work. Allergies are really cramping my style.

After taking it easy for a bit I was ready for breakfast.

I had eggs and avocado on the brain so I made an egg salad sandwich with spinach, avocado with orange slices on the side. It was more of a brunch and helped me feel a lot better.

As the day progressed and I drank more water I felt 100% better and my headache went away completely. I think it could be all the fruits and veggies I’ve had too that have helped keep me in tip-top shape.

For lunch I continued with more avocado. I wasn’t too hungry so I snacked on the remaining avocado I didn’t have on my sandwich in my hummus.

After work it was pretty late so I made a quick plate of eggs, broccoli salad on spinach, and PB&J open face.

I don’t know if I would consider this brinner just because it had eggs, but I would have this for breakfast just as easy.

The broccoli slaw is from a market near by that I LOVE! I kept the container to see how they make it and plain to recreate and share. It’s so good!!!!

Do you spend crazy money on silly things?

I’m bad about that when it comes to food. I’ll buy some organic treat thing and it’lll be like $6 and I don’t realize it.

I’m guilty of not checking prices when it comes to food products. With clothes the price can obviously make or break my decision to purchase, but with food all bets are off – if I want it it’s going in my cart! Definitely something I need to work on :)
