NYC

Long time no blog. How’ve ya been?

Travis has work in NY this week so we thought it would be nice to make it a quick trip for me this weekend. We left Saturday morning and I came back Sunday night so it was a very quick trip, but really fun. I am still exhausted.

I normally have a huge list of things I want to do and see, but with only 36 hours on the agenda all I wanted to do is walk around and enjoy my time. I hate being rushed around having time constraints so we walked all around the city and enjoyed ourselves.

Travis’ sister lives in NYC so she served as a tour guide as well which was great since we didn’t have plans but to walk. And when I say walk I mean it. I was still sore from doubling my weight in BodyPump the previous Thursday and walking for 12+ hours really gave me a workout. And with workouts you need fuel and lots of it.

When we first got to our hotel we were famished and ready for breakfast. Luck for us we were staying a block from a market with a lunch counter. French loaf with poached eggs and bacon, YUM!

Once we were good and stuffed it was off to Central Park.

The Revlon run/walk was earlier that day and they were giving out Smartwater, Travis carried this pack of four all day. I feel like we walked all over the park, but still didn’t see half of it. It’s just so huge. We met up with Kylie and continued to walk around before making our way to midtown and grabbing a snack.

The rest of Saturday was spent seeing Times Square, the west village, etc. We could have seen more, but it was late, we were tired and I was ready for bed. I didn’t have to leave until 4p on Sunday so we waited until then to tour Chelsea and the remainder of our sites until then.

The only thing I really wanted to see in NYC was Babycakes. I had heard about it a while ago and had been on my mind ever since.

Travis got a doughnut and I got a red velvet cupcake. I must say I prefer the vegan cupcake over the sugary regular version. Especially while going through my lactose free trial these were really good.

After a smoothie and more walking it was the perfect end to a really fast NYC trip.

Sounds like a fun way to spend the weekend – i LOVE NYC! Central Park is one of my favorite places to run & all the awesome food in the city makes it a great vacation spot. I have heard about Babycakes – vegan desserts rock! :)

I really like the cinnamon roll picture. I’ve scrolled back and looked at it several times because the surrounding people are so interesting. It makes me wonder if they were looking at you or the roll, or over you at something. A very unexpected intriguing pic.
