No Pain is a Gain

January 4, 2013

I can’t tell you how glad I am that it’s Friday and how overly ecstatic I am that I can sleep in tomorrow. I only worked 3 1/2 days this week, but it seemed like the longest week EVER. Having a day off in the middle really screwed with my head and made me realize how much I rely on a schedule. Turns out I don’t function nearly as well when my days get all out of whack.

This afternoon I took my hip opening yoga class and the instructor was different and totally kicked my tail. I love having a Friday yoga in my workout routine. It’s been extremely beneficial and I can tell I’m getting better in my yoga practice. My leg is finally better from last week and turns out it was a pinched nerve that had to work its way out on its own. Now I know that holding a pose that is painful isn’t a good idea. Sometimes no pain is a gain.

Class was great and just what I needed, but all I could think about was dinner.

brinner

I’ve had peanut butter toast everyday this week as I head out the door so I was craving brinner. For some reason we have a ton of buckwheat flour so I made pancakes and Travis made eggs. And to top off my meal I made myself a peanut butter tortilla with semi-sweet chocolate chips.

dessert

Of course I had some company but this is normal anytime I have peanut butter. And because I’m a total sucker I gave her a bite, minus the chocolate. I know lots of people are cutting out sugar for their resolutions, but I’m not one of those people so I will eat my dessert guilt free;)

The rest of my night I plan on reading and falling asleep soundly knowing I can sleep in tomorrow!

Have a great weekend!

Have you ever injured yourself working out pushing too far?

If I wasn’t so full from dinner I’d be making myself a PB tortilla right now. That looks awesome. And dark chocolate is a health food, right?!

Sorry I missed seeing you today… my massage was ah-mazing. :)

Totally a health food! Tons of anti-aoxidants;) I hate I didn’t see you, I dipped out a tad early to make my yoga class. We should get together soon though!

I love love love hip opening yoga! I only have a Happy Hips DVD, never been to a class. But no kind of yoga makes me feel so revitalized.

I totally agree! I’ve been taking hot yoga for so long that it’s a breath of fresh air for a new class with new stretches.

I had a really tight IT band once and I just ignored and it and it developed into knee problems which then took forever to heal. Ugh. It was no bueno!
