Indoor Weekend

July 2, 2012

For some reason it never fails that when I have an entire stack of books to read I feel the need to go out and buy another.

I’ve been wanting to read this book for a while and figured I would add more to the stack. I’m just about done with my David Sedaris book and it’s really good if you want a funny read that doesn’t take much thought.

Let me clarify that my sense of humor is along the lines of Ricky Gervais or comedies like Parks and Recreation and Portlandia. So if you’re not into either of those you may not like this book.

This weekend we stayed inside the majority of the time. It’s was HELLA hot and over 100°  so we got a lot of house work done. Another reason I didn’t want to be outside was because I had a chemical peel the other day and can’t be in the sun the first few days.

It looks like a real bad sunburn, but peels a lot faster. I’m taking pictures each day to document progress and plan on doing a post about this type of exfoliation.

It seems pretty odd I would want this intentionally, but the results are going to be great after a few days of healing and making sure I keep up with SPF. The things we I go through for beauty;)

Speaking of beauty I thought I’d share a few quotes I saw and just love! I’m apparently into quotes these days, but they put a smile on my face and I hope they do the same for you. In all honesty I was looking for quotes on beauty because my face is peeling and I’ve gotten my fair share of looks that scream, “oh dear poor thing got really sunburn.”, or “What the Hell happened to her?”. haha Either way, no matter what we do on the outside for our looks, the inside is really all that matters.

Chemical peels scare me a bit – my skin is super sensitive!

I have sensitive skin too, but there are a lot of levels you can start with so you won’t look like me or have a bad reaction.

I love David Sedaris. He came to Austin once and my Dad and I went to see him…he was hilarious!! It was awesome!

I think I need to get a chemical peel – I have a ton of sun damage on my face. Let us know how you like the end result! Did you get it done at BlueMed?

That’s why I got one, it’s crazy how much it picked up. I had one of the estheticians do it during my lunch break when she had a sec, haha
