Thunderstorms and torrential down pours cancelled last nights run, but I refused to be upset! Instead of running the next best option is to do a deep clean of the house and bake!
Nothing substitutes a good sweaty cardio session like freshly baked brownies!
I was going to bake these brownies this weekend, but decided that there is no better time than the present!
These aren’t from scratch so don’t be too impressed. Ghirardelli brownie mix, peanut butter swirled in, topped with pretzels and a bit of sea salt!
These were so rich and surprisingly I didn’t try to eat the whole thing! I’m so proud of my discipline!
A couple of weeks ago the great people at Attune Foods sent us a box of their Uncle Sam cereal to try. Since Travis and I are huge cereal people we were more than happy to try something new.
We each have our own way of eating cereals so I thought it was perfect that we have a His and Hers comparison.
Travis made his bowl with mango, strawberries and blueberries in milk. He really liked the combo of crunchy and not so sweet like other cereals.
I use cereal as crunch to my yogurt or cottage cheese bowls. Adding the wheat berry cereal to my cottage cheese and blueberries was so good and way better than other cereals that have at least 11g of sugar.
Uncle Sam has less than 1g of sugar in each serving on top of 7 g protein, only 5g of fat, 10g of fiber, and only 190 cal for 3/4 cup! I don’t usually brag about cereals, but this one is now in my top 5!
With all that wholesomeness(is that a word?) you could eat it paired with one of the brownies and have a balanced meal! I didn’t say what kind of balance, that is up to you;)
More rain to come for ATL so I hope to get in a run tonight. I don’t know if my discipline will be the same with the brownies. I’ll just have broccoli for dinner, that’s a balance! Right?
