Yesterday I took Harper on a quick run after work and headed to the gym for a leg workout that consisted of lunges, squats, and presses. I felt like a second run was needed yesterday since we’re going out-of-town this weekend and I don’t plan on doing anything active. Also, my run in the A.M. was super weak so I felt like I could use a little more.
Since I worked my legs pretty good yesterday I thought I’d feel it in my knees today, but instead my calves are sore. I admit that I’m not a stretcher and should be more aware of that to help recovery, but I get lazy and don’t think about it. I think it’s time for a new investment that I’ve been avoiding, but will really help.
Look how cute they are! I could get the solid color and be mature, but these are too cute and come in light blue too!
Compression socks have always been in the back of my mind, but since I don’t consider myself a long distance runner I’ve never thought to buy them. I run a half marathon at Thanksgiving each year, but other than that I feel like my running is maxed out at 6-7 miles tops when I’m not training.
On the flip side I do want to do more races throughout the year and $60 for socks seems steep, but it’s way cheaper than a long term injury to myself.
Socks aren’t the only thing I’m thinking about today though, I’m also planning on eating cake. That’s right I’m going to buy cake and eat it because I can.
Cat pics are always funny!
My birthday is Sunday so I’m starting early. I normally don’t believe in celebrating my birthday early, or at all for that matter, but this year is the last year of my twenties and I’m going into my 29th year full of cake!
I don’t know what kind of cake, where I’ll get it, or how much I’ll have. All I know is, I’ll be having cake today. It’s going to be great!
Do you use compression socks?
Do you celebrate your birthday early?
