A couple of weeks back we started our Summer project of redoing our living room. The plans we envision are going to be great and I’m really excited about the end result. The only issue I have at the moment is that our house is a small-scale construction site.
No major messes yet but furniture, wires, tools, etc seem to be everywhere(plus laundry that just won’t put itself away). I love a good organized house and though I’m not OCD about everything needing to be spick and span I do like tidiness and order. So right now I’m going a little mad over our current living conditions. I’m sure you’re picturing a space way worse than what it actually is, but for the sake of dramatics and sympathy you are free to do so and feel pity for me;)
When we start building, hammering, sawing, etc I usually try to find an excuse to take a break every 60-90 minutes depending on how bored I get. Travis does all of the heavy work usually and my part doesn’t come in until it’s done when I can “pretty” things up, so I’m bored 75% of the time. In an effort to stop working I make light snacks for us so I don’t have to dirty up the kitchen too much and because if I make a full meal that means I we’ll be working at least two hours straight and I can’t have that.
As a way to have a light snack that doesn’t involve too much work, is still healthy and slightly filling, and easy to whip up I made Blueberry Chocolate Shoothies.
There isn’t any ice cream involved and I always thinks of a smoothie as having more than two fruits so SHOOTHIES is how I combined the two. It’s a little bit of both, and a nice treat when you’re wanting to stall housework.
The combination of blueberries and chocolate are surprisingly good together. It’s one of those combos you wouldn’t normally pair together unless you had another berry with it, but then wonder why you never tried them together before.
Blueberry Chocolate Shoothie (inspired by Lucid Food) makes 4 servings
- 1 Cup Blueberries
- 1 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
- 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 1/2 Cups Soy or Almond Milk
- 1 tsp Maple Syrup
- 1 Cup Ice
Combine ingredients in blender, process until smooth. Enjoy!
