Last night’s workout was really good because it mixed up my normal routine. Not having a gym membership keeps my workouts interesting because I’m able to constantly change my running course and do lunges, squats, and push ups in random places along my route. My once a week yoga and occasional Jillian are good too! Variety keeps things interesting.
The workout included:
Warmup
20 lunges
20 jump squats
high knees
jogging around the track( I think a little over 100 yards)
plank of 5 minutes rotating hips side to side as if a ball was under us(tough)
Workout
sprints straight up a hill for 5 minutes
sideways suicide on an incline, both sides 10x
jump rope 2 min
sit ups with 15 lb dumb bell 2 min
writing the alphabet with one foot while the other is straight(random but worked my glutes)
sprints for about 5 minutes
ab workout for 5 minutes
running up a hill with resistance bands around our waist while another person holds trying to slow up down
Cool down
lots of good stretching
I have to admit that the workout was a bit scattered. He had stations we were going to use, but then we did the alphabet thing and we never got back to any stations. I enjoy mixing things up though and I can easily do the alphabet leg writing in front of the TV. Trying new workouts keeps exercise fun. I don’t have a gym membership because there are so many more fun ways to stay active. And for less $!
Because I had a good 90 minute workout last night I treated myself to the best milkshake EVER!
I went to Flip for a work lunch and decided on the blackened shrimp which wasn’t good but the milkshake made me forget all about it!
Nutella ice cream milkshake topped with burnt marshmallows(sigh). I’m a little freaked out by anything burnt because of carcinogens so I didn’t eat the marshmallows. It was so good, but I couldn’t finish. I usually fight through the fullness pain, but knowing I couldn’t nap after I decided to only have half.
I will gladly work out for 90 minutes if I’m able to have this for dessert, gladly! My sweet tooth was sufficiently satisfied! At least until tomorrow;)

Totally agree with you on the milkshake! That one and the Krispy Kreme version. Or the Brownie Artic Blast @ Zesto. Can you tell I’m a milkshake fan?! LOL!
