When I got home from BodyPump this morning Travis had gone to get his dry cleaning but had left the blender out so I went ahead and took to making our smoothies!
This weekend I got a huge bag of cherries and the first thing that came to mind was “Cherry Garcia” ice cream! I love all the Ben and Jerry flavors so to trying to replicate as a healthy breakfast is perfect!
What I didn’t think about was how time-consuming it would be to de-seed all the cherries I would need to make a batch of smoothies for two. *Note to self, cut cherries ahead of time.
Luckily for me Travis walked in the door with a bag of frozen strawberries and some more soy milk so I added some strawberries to the mix. This was a total life saver. I would have been there for hours(ok a few more minutes, but I had to get ready for work. I don’t have time to be cutting up cherries all morning I have bills to pay and fuzzy mouths to feed!)
Having both cherries and strawberries made this smoothie even more like a milkshake. It kind of tasted like a Neapolitan ice cream milkshake. I was in LOVE!
I have to say I think this is the best one yet! Since we’ve been using soy milk instead of cow’s milk I can really tell a difference in how I feel in the morning’s. I don’t feel so weighed down and overly full.
This is just my preference so do what’s best for you when making your smoothies.

Mmm I have never had a cherry smoothie but it sounds delish!!
I need to invest in a cherry pitter too – want to split the cost?
haha yes!
My blender has been broken for a month and I am missing it dearly! I procrastinated (standard) on ordering the piece that is broken but finally got around to it this weekend. So you bet your booty I will be making this first thing when the piece comes!
I just started making my smoothies out of soy milk and I love it! They come out thicker and slightly sweeter. This looks delicious!
I think they are sweeter too!
One of my FAVORITE things to snack on are frozen cherries. You can buy a bag at Publix and they’re already pitted. They are also just delicious on their own. Word.
I didn’t even think of that! Heck yes for frozen cherries!
just made one of these for breakfast this morning! delish!
and i’m completely right there w/ you on the soy milk… almond milk is even more delicious, but not quite as healthy, so my husband and i stick to vanilla soy.
