About
Hi! I’m Heather. Welcome to Girly Ever After!
I am a North Carolina girl living in Atlanta with my husband Travis, our cat Ella, and our dog Harper. I’m a Licensed Esthetican and LOVE everything about skin care, beauty, and living healthy from the inside out! I have so many things on my plate now that I wanted to share my experiences in life and how I am balancing instead of juggling.
My Healthy Living
I love food! I love to cook it, eat it, smell it, whatever I love it! When I started cooking more I became more aware of what I was buying and where my food was coming from. I always buy organic meats, eggs, and produce because I want my food free of hormones, pesticides, and antibiotics. I try to live as natural as possible, which doesn’t mean that I eat healthy all the time, it means I care about what happened to my food before it got to my plate. I love a good cheeseburger every now and then, but I want it made with local grass fed beef not beef that was pumped with hormones. This does not make me a food snob!
Being active is important to me. I run, walk, weight lift, yoga, hike, etc everyday. I vary my intensity depending on my mood, but I’m constantly doing something to keep me moving. I don’t consider working out a way to lose weight or really worry about my weight. I try to maintain and be healthy while still indulging in foods I love.
Balance
I live a balanced life as much as possible. I don’t believe in going to one extreme and being genuinely happy. Even though I workout and eat right, that doesn’t mean that I don’t like to have a greasy meal with a super sweet dessert afterwards on a day that I only walked the dog up the street. I do. And the next day I’ll up my workout and eat better. In my opinion if you don’t you are missing out! Life is about balance.
My journey to being an Esthetician started when I was very young playing with makeup and learning all about skin care and products. For the longest time I really wanted to be in the skin care field, but after graduating from high school decided on getting my Bachelor’s in Broadcasting instead. After several years of working in the media industry I finally followed my heart and went back to school to become an Esthetician.
Being Girly
When I talk about being girly I don’t mean you have to wear dresses and have your hair and makeup done everyday. I am more talking about the best part of being a girl/woman is to be confident and beautiful from the inside out. I love makeup and fashion just like the next girl but it’s more important to feel beautiful because then you will look beautiful.

I just found your blog and I love your outlook on life! it’s so true… we need to find a way to balance healthy eating, exercise, and happiness to get the most out of each day. I’m so glad we share the same outlook on what it means to eat and live… I only purchase hormone-free, cage-free, and grass-fed meat and try to buy natural, local foods when possible. I currently go to school in North Carolina so I guess we have that in common as well. I look forward to seeing some of your recipes! Feel free to check out my food blog at http://www.ohshineon.wordpress.com/. Sometimes my blog gets a little lonely and sure does like some company every now and again!
Happy cooking,
