A Real Doosey

June 15, 2011

This morning Travis and I decided on running a modified version of our route to get use to our new shoes. I was totally fine with that since new shoes can take some time to break in regardless of how comfy they feel.

We ran a little over 2 miles then I came home to finish my workout with Jillian. Level 3 is tough so running 2 miles before makes the workout a real doosey. I use 5 lbs weights instead of the 2 lbs she recommends so I get a really good burn in my arms.

It felt good to get a good worout in at the beginning of the day. After my sweat fest I wanted something hearty so I went to my old faithful, oats!

Berry Oats

While trying to get in more fruits and veggies in my day I added more strawberries. Also they are about to go bad and I hate wasting food so I dumped a few in to make it more “Summery”. Is that even a word?

I think next time I’ll go easy on the raisins. My eyes were larger than my stomach and they over powered the berries which was a bummer.

But what isn’t a bummer, tonight’s Atlanta blogger dinner!

I’m so excited to meet the ladies behind the blogs I frequent daily. We’re going to a tasting that Laura set up with the chef at Rosebud. I love this restaurant normally, so it’s really going to be a treat to have a special menu.

I still have a few hours to go so I’m hoping the day goes by fast!

Berry Oats

  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup barley
  • 2 tbsp PB
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • pinch of salt
  • dash of cinnamon
  • a few cut straberries( I cut about 5)
  • 1/2 cup 2% milk
